Below you will find links to pertinent forms for the Home School Outreach Ski & Ride Program Participants, Program specifics, and a list of Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Program will run 5 Wednesdays; 1/4, 1/11, 1/18, 1/25, and 2/1.  There may be an option to extend the program to a 6th and 7th week if the weather cooperates and there is enough interest from the participants.
  • The price will be $25 per week per child grades 1-12, ages 6-18.  That price covers the cost of an all day lift ticket and a 1 hour group lesson. Parents/guardians who chaperone their children can also purchase a ticket for the same rate but it is a lift ticket only and is an all day lift ticket as well.  The lesson is only for the children, not for the parents.  We encourage one or two (max) parents in a lesson group in order to help keep children organized and assist with loading the lift if applicable. Often time’s parents will take turns each week but that may be worked out by the parents/guardian at the flag prior to the lesson going out.  If you chaperone your child, or others, make sure you are skiing or riding at the same ability or above those students in that lesson group.
  • The cost for ski/snowboard rentals is $18/per week per student/parent and helmet rentals are an additional $5 a week.
  • We need to have a Participants Waiver and, if applicable, a Rental Waiver for all students/parents participating.
  • Waivers and payment in full need to be  returned to us by December 16th.  Checks can be made out to Gunstock Mountain Resort and mailed to:

Parents FAQ’s:

1.    How is the cost of the program broken down? The program has two costs associated with it.  The lift/lesson ticket for each student $25 and the rental fees for either skis or snowboard rentals are $18.  Add an additional $5/wk for a helmet rental.

2.    What if my child has a season pass to Gunstock? The program costs the same for each student regardless if they have a season pass.  The rate is a specially reduced rate for students and is already a discounted rate from a lesson cost of $35/hr.

3.    What if my child does not want to take the lesson?  All students must participate in the lesson.

4.    If my child may possibly receive equipment for Christmas, should I sign them up for rentals?

If there is a good chance your child will receive equipment for Christmas.  DO NOT sign them up for rentals.  If they end up not receiving the equipment then you may add the rental and pay for it separately but this must take place prior to the program starting.   If you do sign up for rental equipment and end up not needing it, you will be charged a one time set up fee.

5.    How do I go about getting a refund if my child gets equipment and I have already paid for rentals through Gunstock?   You must submit a refund request form that is found with the other printable forms and it must be submitted prior to the program starts.

6.    What if my child gets hurt during the program and can not continue to participate?

If your child should get injured or become ill and can not complete the remainder of the program, Gunstock will gladly issue a refund for the remaining weeks of the program.  You must provide a doctor’s note stating the injury or illness and fill out a refund request form.  These two things must be handed in to Gunstock  within 10 days of the injury or illness.  The refund will be issued at the end of April via check.

7.    What if I forget to submit a refund request for my child?  Can I do so once the program ends?  All refunds must be submitted within 7 days of injury or illness.  Rental refunds must be submitted prior to the program starting.  No refunds will be issued outside of these time frames.

8.    What if my child is ill and cannot participate for a given week during the program?  Will they be entitled to a refund?  A refund is only issued if the injury or illness prevents the child from participating in the remainder of the program and is documented by a Physician.  We do not issue refunds for short term illnesses such as the flu or a cold or for other conflicts that may arise outside of the program.

9.    What if my child feels that the lesson group they are in is not appropriate for their level and ability? If there are concerns about the lesson level that your child is in you can email maggie@gunstock.com.  She will communicate your concerns with your child’s ski/snowboard pro.  Please understand that it is the final word of the instructor as to the appropriate level for each student

.10. What if my child wants to switch from ski to snowboard or vice versus each week? Your child may switch one time immediately following the first week of the program.  No exceptions to this after the second week.

11. If I have any questions about the program who should I contact? Please direct all questions or concerns to either maggie@gunstock.com or rowe@gunstock.com.
