Lessons
It is time for spring skiing and this means variable surface conditions, firm in the morning, soft mid day, and a mix on shady trails. First and foremost make sure your skis are waxed with the appropriate wax for the temperature. Your favorite tune shop has the knowledge to set you up for success. Creating a firm connection between you and your skis is the key to maintaining balance as you go from sliding snow to sticky snow. Keep the ankles engaged by trying to maintain contact between your shin and the tongue of your boots, keep knees and hips slightly flexed, and try to keep your spine and shoulders slightly rolled to put you in a ready position. This will keep you in a better position to actively adjust to the changing consistency of the snow. |
