Below is a list of just some of the events taking place this season at Gunstock's Cross Country & Snowshoe Center. Be sure to check out all the events at the mountain. We look forward to seeing you there.
New this year Wednesday time trials for skate, classic and snowshoe racers!
2011-2012 Nordic Events
December 17. Season opening party. We may open sooner due to machine made snow. Sale on new and used gear. Free wax clinic at 10:00.
GUNSTOCK NORDIC CUP (every Wednesday through the season). Each Wednesday will we set up a 5-7K course that will be self timed with a start and finish clock. You can race classic or skate on the same course or snowshoe race on a single track course. Start times are between 9-4:30pm, you pick your time. Early season late start times will require a headlamp. All racers must be off the course by 5:45. $10 fee will cover one or all three disciplines for the day. Results will be posted on our website the following Thursday. We will drop the lowest 3 finishes for the combined season end awards for each discipline. There will be 4 classes for skiing. Up to 30 and 30+ Men and Women for both classic and Skate. Snowshoe will have men and women classes only. Additional Dates: January 14 (Saturday make-up date), then Wednesday's 18, 25, and February 1,8,15,22, 29, and March 7.

December 31 Snowshoe Ridge Tour. The Ridge tour begins on New Years Eve and continues every Saturday throughout the season. Enjoy our most popular tour as we ride up the lift, snowshoe across the ridge and finish at the Gunstock main lodge. $25 per person. $10 rentals. Reservation required. 6:30-9:00pm
January 14 Slide, Glide, and Ride Clinic. Open to beginners and intermediates, this clinic will provide a foundation of XC skills for classic or skate. Learn core techniques of skiing and how to apply them to various conditions. Taught by PSIA certified instructors 10-12:30. $25 per person, $20 for season pass holders. Does not include trail pass or rentals.
January 14 Gunstock Nordic Cup Race. This Saturday is a make-up day for our Wednesday Race Series. Come and race anytime between 9-4. We will have a 1.2K loop. Four laps around for Skate or Classic racing for only $7 plus trail pass or season's pass. You can race both disciplines for $7.
January 21 Waxing with Neal Graves. Learn the latest methods of waxing to have you gliding smoothly out on the trails. 10:00am. Cost. Free!
January 22 Gunstock Winter Triathlon Championships. Click link here for more info. CANCELLED BY PROMOTER
February 4 Thrills Hills and Avoid the Spills. Enjoy this fun clinic for intermediate to advanced skiers as we focus on technique for climbing, descending and turning on challenging terrain. 10-12:30. $25 per person, $20 season pass holders. Does not include trail pass or rentals
February 14 Valentines Day. 2 for 1 rentals, trail pass, and lessons for couples!
February 25 “The Great Snowshoe Race.” Race a challenging course up Mount Rowe with single track, wide groomed trails, steep climbs, and the best views of Lake Winni. The course will be 5.5K. Start time for all racers 10:00. Cost $25.00.
March 10 Season Pass party and awards for Wednesday time trial overall champions. Prizes, awards, food and more as we celebrate Nordic skiing and snowshoeing. A big thanks for the season pass holders and racers making Gunstock your Nordic destination. Starts at 3pm.
