Gunstock raises funds for the Children’s Auction all year round

Although the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction is most often associated with Christmas and the winter holiday season, Team Gunstock, of Gunstock Mountain Resort, is working year-round to raise funds to help families in need every year.
Starting in June, during Gunstock’s largest event of the summer, bartenders, food servers and golf-cart shuttle drivers donate the entirety of their tips received during the Gunstock Motorcycle Hillclimb to the Children’s Auction. This year, that was more than $1,900.
Later in the summer, during Gunstock’s annual Food Truck Festival, a special event at the festival raised more than $1,300 for the Children’s Auction. A well-fed, friendly bovine is released onto a fenced pasture marked with a grid and a number assigned to each square. The winning square in this game of chance, called Cow Patty Bingo, wins half the total proceeds from the sale of squares. The other half goes to the kids of the greater Lakes Region.
As ski season approaches, Team Gunstock keeps the fundraising spirit alive through the sale of colorful Auction Ornaments that cover the walls and windows of Gunstock’s Ticket Office. There’s also an annual raffle for a season-long, premium VIP parking spot just steps away from the base lodge and ski lifts. The parking space is valued at $999.
