GUNSTOCK KEEPS THE ON-SNOW PARTY GOING

Major spring events Winter Wild, Spring Thing, and B.Y.O.D.C. Pond Skim will conclude Gunstock’s strong ski season.

Gilford, NH (March 26, 2019) Gunstock Mountain Resort will be closing for the 2018/19 season after Sunday, April 7, but there are still some fun events to look forward to.

Winter Wild returns to Gunstock on Saturday, March 30. Winter Wild is an early morning uphill series with a twist: the finish is at the bottom, so contestants get to come back down the mountain, too. Participants will be able to use skis, snowshoes, or winter running shoes with miscrospikes to ascend the mountain, and then descend back down for first tracks! Registration will be at the Stockade Lodge from 6:15am-6:45am, followed by the race at 7:00am.

Following Winter Wild on March 30 will be Gunstock’s annual Spring Thing event. This fun-filled all day event will have something for everyone.  Activities include the annual Cardboard Sled Race, lawn games, snow castle competition, and a "Silly Slalom" Race. Cardboard Sled Race & Silly Slalom Registration will be in the Main Lodge from 9:00-11:00am. The Cardboard Sled Race will be at 12:00pm at the Tubing Hill. Silly Slalom Race will be at 1pm at the Tubing Hill. Dis N Dat Caribbean reggae band will be playing outside at the Landing Zone patio from 12:00pm-3:00pm.

The following Sunday, April 6, Gunstock will host the annual “Bring Your Own Dry Clothes” Pond Skim. This competition is open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages who are brave enough to cross the pond in hopes of making it to the other side without sinking. Prizes will be awarded for Best Cross, Best Splash, and Best Costume. Registration will be in the Main Lodge from 9:00am to 11:00am, followed by the competition from 12pm to 2:00pm. Popular New Hampshire band, Shark Martin, will be playing at the Landing Zone patio from 2:00pm to 4:00pm to keep the après party going for the last Saturday of Gunstock’s ski season.
