Fundraising

Greater Lakes Region Children's Auction

It’s that time of year again: we’re all scrambling around trying to put our ski and ride stoke on the back burner while we prepare for winter operations, which is a daunting task in 2020! We are also approaching the holiday season, and that means, you guessed it, another Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction! Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the scope of Pub Mania is drastically different this year: the annual barstool challenge at Patrick’s Pub will not be happening and fundraising will be taking place virtually. Sure, we’ll miss wearing our ugly sweaters and pjs in public and spreading holiday cheer with our local cohorts, but on the bright side, nobody has to pull an all-nighter this time and none of our maintenance guys have to wear lady’s lingerie (but let’s be honest, Bill looked good). So, here is the low-down on what’s happening this year:

The Community Challenge is the follow-on, pandemic-proof transformation of Patrick’s Pub Mania, which has raised $2.3 million over 11 years for children and families in need and distributed via the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction. The Community Challenge is comprised of local businesses, organizations and friends and families who create teams and creatively fundraise their way to Closing Ceremonies.

Last year, the Children’s Auction distributed a record $561,400 to 75 charitable organizations serving children and families - providing food, clothing, shelter, hygienic needs and Christmas gifts; funding non-profits working to provide basic and extended services for children; funding capital initiatives that improve the lives of children; and funding educational and recreational opportunities for children that they could otherwise not afford. See entire list here. It is all about raising money, giving local children and families a helping hand, and being part of something fun and exciting that makes a significant impact in our community.

So, where does Gunstock fit in? This year, Gunstock is raffling off one of its coveted V.I.P. Premium Parking Spots alongside the Main Lodge! These spots are selling for $999 each and will be convenient on many fronts; from booting up close to the slopes, to shortening guests’ walk to the lift, to picking up to-go food, to schlepping lots of equipment, especially on powder days! With your raffle win, you will be assigned one V.I.P. Premium Parking Spot for the season and issued two transferable parking passes. The pass will need to be placed on your rearview mirror. You can share your parking pass, but must have the pass on hand in order to park in the spot!

How to Enter: Raffle tickets for the Parking Spot are only $20 each, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Greater Lakes Region Children's Auction! These may be bought in person at the Welcome Center or online in our e-store. If you do not already have a Gunstock e-store account from an RFID card or season pass, you must create one. Raffle ends on December 10th at midnight. A name will be randomly chosen December 11th at 9am in the Welcome Center and announced on our website. Good Luck!
