Traffic will be impacted on NH 11 Eastbound and Westbound through October.
We like to think that all roads lead to Gunstock, and October is going to be our chance to prove it! Visitors travelling to Gunstock via Alton, N.H., will need to plan a little extra travel time and an alternative route to reach their destination. We’re so sorry for this inconvenience.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) has announced a full road closure will tentatively occur from Monday, October 6, 2025, through Saturday, October 25, 2025. This closure is part of a culvert replacement project in the town of Alton.

Northbound from Alton Bay (NH-11)
Go straight onto Rand Hill Rd. where NH-11N turns sharply right in Alton Bay
Continue until Rand Hill Rd. intersects with NH-11, ~2.3 miles
Turn left onto NH-11 N/Mount Major Highway, ~4.4 miles
Turn left onto Cherry Valley Rd.
The NHDOT is recommending a detour utilizing state routes NH 11, US 3, NH 107 and NH 140. This route will add considerable time to your travels which is why we are suggesting the Town of Alton detour instead.
Northbound from New Durham (NH-11/Depot Rd)
Turn left onto NH-140 W (Frank C. Gilman Hwy), ~3.5 miles
Turn right onto NH-107 N/Province Rd, ~12 miles
Turn right onto US-3 (Daniel Webster Highway), ~7 miles
Turn right onto Gilford Ave. to Cherry Valley Rd.
