We chased down Jeremy Lambert, our elusive Grounds Manager, for a quick chat. He's been helping to keep Gunstock beautiful and fun for about 4 years.
Q: So what do you handle in the Grounds Dept?
A: Grounds encompasses all kinds of things—parking, waste management, shuttle bus driving, plowing/snow removal, sanding/salting, mowing, a little of everything around here.
Q: What did you do before working at the mountain?
A: I ran my own business for a number of years. I still have it on the side, but I don’t operate at the same capacity I used to. Mostly, you'll find me here.
Q: What's your favorite kind of sandwich?
A: I like Turkey, white American and mayonnaise on white bread, pretty simple.
Q: No greenery or veggies on that?
A: I am not a rabbit. I’m a picky eater, my wife just loves that.
Q: What do you like to do with the fam?
A: We spend as much time as we can up the north country-- we’ve got a camp up there that we built so we’ve been going up there for the last 4 years or so, we love it up there.
Q: Would you compare parking on a busy day to a game?
A: We’re constantly figuring out where to fit people, where to park next on busy days. It’s kind of like a game of Tetris sometimes but we make it work.
Q: If you were a dog, what would be your breed?
A:I’d be a shepherd/lab/husky mix. We just lost our dog of 13 years and 7 months, so that would be my spirit dog. We just got a new golden doodle puppy in addition to the 6 year old one that we have from the same breeder.
Q: Are you a winter or summer guy?
A: I prefer summer. I can get away to enjoy the outdoors a little more often in the summer so that’s my favorite time of year. I used to ice fish and snowmobile a lot in the winter—I haven’t gone this season but I do like to get out there. I’m hoping to get out on my sled soon.
Q: What's the best part about working at Gunstock?
A: Probably the people. I’ve made some great friends here and I really enjoy everyone I work with. Originally I got here because my best friend and my brother both worked here, so it’s always felt like family to me, and now even moreso.
You rock Jeremy, thanks for being a part of the Gunstock fam!
