24/25 Development Team goes on sale beginning today, March 22, 2024 at 8 a.m.

Where fun and learning come together to build a lifelong passion for skiing and riding. This nine-week program is a progression-based curriculum focusing on fundamentals and repetition. Development team members will develop new skills and form new and lasting friendships with their teammates as they master the mountain together, step by step. Students can expect to be placed in groups of similar age and skill. Skiers will be placed into two age categories: 4 to 6 year-olds and 7 to 14 year-olds. Snowboarders can expect to be in groups with ages ranging from 7 to 9 years old and 10 to 14 years old. We reserve the right to combine groups when needed.

NEW!

Sessions will now begin the weekend of December 21 and 22 as a student assessment day. Students and parents can expect classes to spend their assessment day on all available terrain including terrain that is easier than what they normally ski or ride. This day is to focus on assessing fundamentals and class cohesiveness. 

All classes will then pause until the first weekend in January and run for eight continuous weeks, excluding MLK and Presidents Week.

Things to Know:

• Please refer to the Ability Chart to place your child at the appropriate level. All students will begin in the program level they were signed up for. Please understand if you incorrectly place your child, it may take multiple weeks to place them properly.
• Lift Tickets are NOT included in the price of the program. 
• Helmets are strongly recommended and may be purchased or rented.

Ski Development Team

In this weekly two-hour lesson, the focus will be to develop and blend basic and intermediate skills to gain confidence in students' skiing, and for them to become more familiar with varying terrain. While skiing in these groups, students will develop a greater awareness of safety and fun in a non-competitive learning environment.

Snowboard Development Team

In this weekly two-hour lesson for snowboarders, the focus will be to develop and blend basic and advanced skills to master the mountain. While snowboarding in these groups, students will develop a greater awareness of safety and fun in a friendly and non-competitive learning environment.

Race Development Team

For skiers who have mastered parallel turns and wish to develop skills on and off the racecourse. During the weekly two-hour lesson, students should expect to start with techniques off the course and then bring those skills to brush gates and progress to the NASTAR Racecourse. A NASTAR Season Pass is now included.

Freestyle Development Team (9-14):

In this weekly two-hour lesson for skiers or snowboarders ages 9-14, the focus will be to develop and blend basic and advanced freestyle skills to further master the mountain and develop more confidence and personal style. While skiing or snowboarding in these groups, students will develop a greater awareness of safety and fun in a friendly and exciting learning environment.

Dev Teams Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made by December 15, 2024, will be charged a $29 processing fee with the remaining value applied to a Gunstock Mountain Resort non-expiring gift card or as Gunstock Mountain Money. After December 15, 2024, there are no refunds or credits.
