GILFORD, N.H. – Gunstock Mountain Resort is pleased to announce the first Wetlands Walk Cleanup Day of the season. The Spring Awakening will be held on Saturday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Organized by the Belknap County Conservation District, volunteers will spend Earth Day assisting with the cleaning and general maintenance of the boardwalk and the surrounding trails. This will include removing leaves, lichen, moss, and any debris that may have accumulated on the boardwalk, branch trimming and light carpentry necessary in the installation of “Buy a Board” plaques, and the light gardening and mulching of the two pollinator gardens.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring work gloves and wear boots. Community Service Certificates are available and all students under the age of 18 must have a responsible adult with them. All volunteers will meet at the boardwalk which can be found by following signs that read, “Volunteer.” Snacks and water will be provided.

For more information about the Spring Awakening Cleanup Day, visit or call the Belknap County Conservation District at (603) 527-5880, or contact Head Volunteer Jan Hooper, at (603) 707-9760.
