Uphill Travel

Gunstock Mountain Resort is happy to offer uphill travel or “skinning”. For everyone’s safety on the mountain, we require that anyone participating in uphill travel adhere to the following uphill policies.

 Routes 1 & 2 *

5 a.m. - 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday

5 a.m. -  4 p.m. Monday - Friday

Except 12/26/25, 12/29/25 – 1/2/26, 1/19/26, and 2/16/26-2/20/26. Uphill hours are limited to 5 - 9 a.m. during these periods.

Route 3 *

5 a.m. - 4 p.m. Daily

*Please check the Snow Report daily, due to conditions Route 3 may be closed.

During operating hours call the Gunstock Ski Patrol at 603.737.4300. If outside of operating hours, call 911.

Descend only on trails marked open on the daily snow conditions report.

Downhill descent must commence prior to 4 p.m. each day.

Note that winchcat grooming may be taking place on the mountain at any time and grooming machines should not be approached under any circumstances.

• Alpine Route 1: Start Point: The Fireplace ➡Musket ➡ Lower Gunsmoke ➡ Middle Gunsmoke ➡ Upper Gunsmoke ➡ Summit
• Alpine Route 2: Start Point: Gunstock Ski Club Building ➡Stonebar  ➡Flintlock ➡ Summit
• Alpine Route 3: Start Point: Base of Mountain Coaster ➡ Try Me ➡The Ridge (Hiking Trail/Single Track) ➡ Summit

Uphill Policies

• Uphill access is permitted only to those who purchase a valid Gunstock Uphill Season Pass, a Gunstock Uphill Day Ticket, or a Uphill New England Season Pass.
• Uphill Day Tickets are $35 and sold in the Ticket Office only. See Ticket Office hours to plan ahead.
• You must sign the Gunstock UPHILL ACCESS AND TRAVEL RELEASE OF LIABILITY, ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISKS AND HAZARDS AND AGREEMENT NOT TO SUE prior to any uphill travel.
• You are held to the same standards and rules as skiers and riders who are descending only. It is your responsibility to know and adhere to ‘Your Responsibility Code’, which can be found on our Mountain Safety Page of our website.
• You must have your Uphill Access Season Pass armband or day ticket on you and visible at all times when using any uphill access route. 
• Uphill travel is permitted only on the designated uphill routes designated as open during designated hours. Hours are subject to change due to grooming and snow conditions. 
• Downhill decent must commence prior to 4 p.m. each day.
• Required equipment: ONLY alpine touring skis, splitboards, telemark skis and snowshoes are permitted.
• Winchcat grooming may take place on the mountain at any time and grooming machines should never be approached under any circumstances. Stay clear of all operating equipment on the mountain (snowmobiles, grooming vehicles, snowmaking equipment, lifts, etc.). 
• There is a $29 replacement fee for lost Gunstock Uphill Season Pass armband.
• Dogs are not allowed on any alpine snow surface.

Uphill Day Tickets are available for purchase in the ticket office for $35. Tickets must be picked up ahead of time.
